The Transponder Car Key

Since 1995 all makes and models of cars have now been fitted with a transponder microchip system. This system functions around two primary components, the processor found in the cars ECU and the transponder microchip embedded in the head of the ignition key. When an attempt to start the vehicle is made, the processor recognised the code sent by the microchip, the vehicle will be allowed to start. If the code does not match, the vehicle will not start.

 

There are currently three types of vehicle transponder systems:

• Fixed Electronic Code
• Rolling Electronic Code
• Cryptographic Electronic Code

(AD100) This system allows us to program the key via the vehicle, making it possible to duplicate the fixed, rolling and crypto codes.
